Settings
From Sleep is Death
In your Sleep Is Death directory you will find a directory named "settings". This contains ten ini files which are the available settings for SiD. Edit them with any text editor or use a 3rd party application to manage them for you.
Descriptions of Settings
autoHost.ini
Default value: 0
If changed to 1, the game will launch straight into Host or Controller mode.
autoJoin.ini
Default value: 0
If set to 1, the game will auto join the IP specified in defaultServerAddress.ini.
defaultServerAddress.ini
Default value: [No default value]
If set to an IP and if autoJoin.ini is set to 1, the game will attempt to join a game hosted at that address when launched.
flipBook.ini
Default value: 1
If set to 1, a flipbook will be created for you for each game in which you are the player. (You can find these flipbooks in the flipbooks folder of your main SiD directory.)
WINDOWED MODE IS EASILY ACCESSED USING ALT+ENTER OR OPT+ENTER
fullScreen.ini
Default value: 1
If set to 1, the game will launch in full screen mode. If set to 0, the game will launch in a window.
hardToQuitMode.ini
Default value: 0
If set to 1, you must press # followed by Esc to leave a game or to close the application at the menus. If set to 0, you must press Esc followed by Y to leave a game and Esc to close the application at the menus.
port.ini
Default value: 7778
This specifies the port that the game will host or connect on. This port must be an open, forwarded port. Visit Setting Up Your Network for more help on this.
screenHeight.ini
Default value: 480
The screen height that the game will run at.
screenWidth.ini
Default value: 640
The screen width that the game will run at.
timeLimit.ini
Default value: 30
Changing this value changes the amount of time (in seconds) that you have to take your turn whilst playing as both Controller and Player. This does not affect the other player's time limit. It's advisable to change this to 60 seconds if you are new to Controller mode to give yourself some breathing space.
For fairness' sake, if you open a game on Sidtube Games announce any custom time limits in your game description. Example: Bobby's adventure (60s Controller time)
